CONYERS, Ga. – Employees at the Great Southern Wood plant in Conyers make a combined effort to create a safe work environment and now have an award to prove it. As of September 13, 2013, the Great Southern Wood plant in Conyers, Georgia, has remained accident-free for seven years and was recently recognized by the Occupational Health and Safety Administration (OSHA) for the plant's accomplishment. Due to this outstanding achievement, Great Southern Wood honored its employees at a luncheon on October 9, 2013.
Brendt Murphy, Director of Human Resources for Great Southern Wood, was in attendance at the luncheon. "This is a huge accomplishment for the Conyers plant and I'm honored the employees have been recognized for excellence in safety achievement. It sure speaks highly of our staff at the Conyers plant. They have created a culture of safety and it shows," he said. "All employees communicate safety and they look after one another."
Great Southern Wood's first concern is safety. The company takes great pride in training its employees with safety in mind and keeping safety a priority each and every day. All employees were individually recognized for their exemplary safety record during the luncheon.
Bob Worfel, General Manager of the Conyers plant, placed a plaque commemorating the seven-year accident-free accomplishment in the plant office during the luncheon. "I am really proud of our Production Team in Conyers for this milestone safety achievement. Great Southern has always placed a high priority on safety and good housekeeping," Worfel said. "We're glad to recognize each and every employee and thank them for their dedication to safety and our company. I congratulate and give many thanks to the Conyers team for this very impressive achievement."
