Underwriters Laboratories (UL) is perhaps the best-known and most trusted name in product safety and certification in the world. UL Environment's GREENGUARD Certification program is your assurance that the products you're building with meet stringent emissions standards based on established chemical exposure criteria.
The preservative process used to treat YellaWood® brand products has been awarded the UL Environment GREENGUARD Gold Certification which is broadly recognized and accepted by sustainable building programs and building codes around the world. This certification process includes testing and certifying products and materials for low chemical emissions (VOCs) – helping to reduce indoor air pollution, minimize chemical exposure and create healthier indoor environments. In addition to rigorous certification criteria, the testing process considers safety factors for sensitive individuals (children and the elderly) and helps ensure that a product is acceptable for use in environments such as schools and healthcare facilities.
It is referenced in both the Collaborative High Performance Schools (CHPS) and the Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) Building Rating System.
